Esxtop in batch mode

I need to collect specific information by using esxtop.

Based on what I read in several sites, I started using esxtop intractively, I used F to select the information I need (a limited subset of available information) and I saved a configuration file by using W to salve my configuration file.

Then I started esxtop in batch mode with a command like:

esxtop -b -d 5 -n 5 -c <filename> > output.txt

However, I get a large amount of data and I cannot limit the content of my file output.txt to the information I need.

I repeated the test using the default file name for the configuration file and a custom file name, with no result.

Am I missing any relevant point?

Am I making any mistake?

Where can I locate step-by-step instrictions?

Regards

marius
