So I stressed out a lot about this test, but it wasn't too bad. Look online for some sample questions, do the free online course a couple of times, and get the exam prep book, helped me a lot!!!! Onto the VCA-NV

I recently moved from a Windows based vcenter 5.1 install on a physical server to the virtual appliance for 6.0. In the past if I wanted to use a plugin, I'd either install it right on the Windows vcenter server, or on it's own server and connect to vcenter via the install settings. But now that I'm on version 6 and the appliance, I'm not exactly sure how the whole plugin set up works. I found this in the docs about deploying a plugin package, but it was a bit confusing. Any help would be appreciated.
This wasn't even what I started working on to get here. I was looking for documentation on updating Qlogic FC HBA's via command line from vib as I did in earlier versions, but couldn't find much information on it. The one thing I did find was to install the Qlogic vcenter plugin and update them via he GUI, but then I realized I had no idea how to connect a third party plugin to this appliance.

Strange problem with Horizon 7.0.1 and Windows 7. In a multi-monitor environment if I disconnect and then reconnect, windows that were on the right move to the left and windows that were on the left move to the right. If I then disconnect and reconnect again the windows don't move. It only swaps them on the first disconnect/reconnect. This happens when using both PCoIP and Blast but not RDP. I've tested from various client types and the problem is across them all.
The problem does not occur in View 6.2.

I just upgraded a Windows 7 virtual machine to Windows 10, host is OS X, Fusion 8.1.1.
Everything was going great until I reinstalled VMware tools, which I had uninstalled per instructions to get past the video driver error.
Upon restart, it crashed while booting with DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_OR_EQUAL.
I restarted it and it did get into windows, but soon crashed again. And that time it wouldn't start at all. It hit the above error several times, plus an error about corrupted driver pool memory, plus some others.
Finally I tried changing the number of CPU cores from 2 to 1. And that appears to have fixed it: it has booted up and hasn't crashed so far (crossing fingers).
I've tried without success to create an El Capitan virtual machine using Fusion 8.1.1. When trying to use the recovery partition, none is found. When trying to use the downloaded installer it fails giving the error, "Unable to create the installation media." An active tail on the log showed no output. It seems a similar problem is being solved for the new Sierra Beta OS to be run. Suggestions?
I need to enable FT for a particular VM. In this case do we need to have DRS enable at the Cluster level?

I have vCloud Director 8.1 installed.
A new catalog created, and can add iso's without any problem to vm's.
I have also uploaded a flp file to attach to a vm, however the option to add the flp to the vm is not available.
Properties-Hardware of a VM says
CD/DVD drive: Empty
Floppy Drive: Empty
Can attach an iso by right clicking the vm, but no othe r media option avilable.
Is there an option I need to turn on?

Hi, when I run esxcli storage nmp device list I notice it shows Status: degraded.
I've researched this and it seems to be related to only one path to the datastore, however I can't find any definite answer on whether it's wrong/right or what should be done to correct it.

Ladies and gents doing a piece of work which involves P2V SQL servers lets say these will be 2003 / 2008 Windows servers with old versions of SQL does the 64k sectors still stand for SQL P2V migration. I think this iwas a MS best practice,I remember doing this years ago not sure if its still relevant. Any advice would be appreciated.

Fairly new to the VMWare world so hoping I can get some help. I've been successfully converting standard windows servers from hyperv to vmware over a few days. The problem I now have is that I have a Linux box which the conversion tool doesn't seem to like it. The error I get when using the conversion tool is:
"Make sure that you can run sudo withut entering a password when logged in to the source machine over SSH"
I have edited the sudo users file to include: ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD:ALL - but it still doesn't like it.
Any thoughts?

We are having difficulties identifying what the problem is here:
We have plenty of available memory:
We have tried to restart Management Agents, Management Network and finally tried to remove each host from the cluster and readding them.
Last we tried to remove DRS to reapply it, but unfortunately we have an active vApp that requires extra work to remove, so we would like to find a method which does not taking down this vApp.
Anyone? :-)
