Qualcuno usa il Vcenter 5.5 come appliance?
Ieri notte ho lasciato a clonare una vm con Vcenter tra due datastore, questa mattina ho trovato il filesystem del vcenter corrotto.
Sono solo io il fortunato? Oppure è successo a qualcuno? Qualche idea?

We're utilizing App Volumes 2.12 in dev, and, just after upgrading we noticed that logins were failing. They would take a while to complete, with an eventual "Server error" message displayed in the browser. When we checked the logs we found this error:

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me find a solution to this issue.
I've been struggling to get a 2 node stretched cluster working. I have 2 server running ESXi 6.0u2 (3620729) on 2 of the servers then the server running the Witness appliance is running 6.0u2 (4192238) as this version fixes an issue with the 10GbE nic that's in it. Vcenter is running version 6.0u2a (4637290)
The network is flat, all management networks and vsan vmkernals are on the same subnet and can ping each other.
When I try to configure the 2 node stretched cluster I get this error:
The "Configure VSAN Stretched Cluster for MOX-CLUSTER" operation failed for the entity with the following error message.
The object has already been deleted or has not been completely created

I'm currently running vSAN 6.2 in our environment which is comprised of 6 hosts. All SAN health checks have passed except for the Cluster. It was giving me a SAN Disk Balance warning with the option to rebalance the disks. I ran the rebalance option and now the task is stuck at 5%. Any ideas on how to kill this task? It's been running for over 24 hours

We are currently trying to supply linked clone desktops for our Developers.
They have come to me with a problem that they cannot leave their VDI to compile their solution overnight.
It seems that when they reconnect after some time while visual studio is still open it just crashes when they get in their VDI.
Anybody had this issue as well ?
FYI we are talking about Visual Studio 2013 on Win10 machines.

We are trying to install ESXi 5.0 on one of our server
We are booting from CD, In "Loading ESXi Installer " screen when everything loads we get a message at the end " Relocating modules and starting up the kernel..." and it freezes here and nothing else happens.. for hours....
I have tried to restart the installation few times and i get same thing..
Anyone know what could be the issue?

We have the problem that we need to recover VMs in a different network than the original. This means IP address needs to be changed prior to be able to access it.
I know there is an API that allows to run commands through VMware tools but requires authentication. Without access to Active Directory the VMs policy rejects changing the IPs even with local Administrator Account.
Anybody has come across a similar case, has some good suggestions how to approach this? How does SRM change the IP addresses?
Sysprep seems to be exhausted and cannot be run again.

So I have been experimenting with a fresh install of ESXi 6.5 on my server. I am getting a few weird errors. I have included some screenshots as well. The first error is the significantly larger than actual disk size. I am using a 32GB USB Flash Drive and it's showing a disk size of 5439486.00 TiB. Once I continue the installation, ignoring the disk size error my installation fails. I have tried two different USB Sticks, different USB Ports, different ISO Images (Fresh Downloads), different bootable USB makers (Windows, Mac) and to make sure it wasn't my hardware I tried the same with ESXi 6.0 and I had no issues.
Can someone tell me more about these errors? Or can someone even resolve them?

Been trying the new Access Point 2.5 with both Horizon 6.2 and Horizon 7, and am not able to use the HTML5 Web client.
The error is "Failed to connect to the Connection Server." after entering my credentials. Server sends a code 500, "Internal Server Error".
I deployed it using the "VMware Access Point Deployment Utility" fling.
Downgrading to 2.0 makes everything work for Horizon 6.2, but does not work for Horizon 7 (unsupported).
Did anyone had the same issue? If Access Point 2.5 is working for you, can you share how you deployed it?

im trying to open a pdf attachment from an outlook mail message in the windows xp guest within fusion. i have Preview as my default program to open pdfs in my mac. i get the following message in outlook - file is not in a shared folder with the host and cannot be opened by the host? it is trying to access the local settings folder within the guest.
ive tried to look up setting program defaults within the guest but it just takes me to adding programs. looked up sharing issues and i read that someone is using smb to share guest folders over a network. i am sharing mac folders fine through the settings tab in fusion.
can anyone suggest what might be going on here and how to fix it. i would like preview to open the pdf when i click on the attachment in an outlook email.

I've tried the new 5.2.2 version that should resolve this trouble but the start up delay seems to be the same as with 5.2.1.
I captured the application both in Win7 and Win10 with same results. So is there any "tricks" to enable a "quick" start up on Win10 with 5.2.2?

can vmware workstation be installed on a Virtual machine? I keep getting the problem that I cannot start usb arbitration service.
I try top install the hcmon service but nothing happens with
vnetlib64.exe --install hcmon
I try removing the hcmon.sys driver and repairing workstation and same issue.

I upgraded one of my esxi hosts from 5.5 U2 to U3 and after the host upgrade it disconnected from vcenter which is 5.5 U3 as well. The error message states:
Datastore conflicts with an existing datastore in the datacenter that has the same URL but is backed by different physical storage.
After researching this it appears that this is a bug in 5.5. I have reviewed the following KB:
The vml and naa info is the same between the upgraded host and a current host. It states to remove the host from vcenter and then re-add the host, but the option to remove the host is grayed out. I can hit the connect button which produces the error above and then asks for credentials. I have not followed through with entering the credentials since I am not sure it is safe to go ahead with this step. Anyone else experience this?
My view 7.0.1 environment has been good for a while but recently stuff has been happening. currently have a case open with support related to No Desktops available when in fact there are plenty. I do however have a small work-a-round for that. Since that issue i've been doing a lot of recompose on my pools and now have another odd things happening when i recompose. During the recompose of a desktop, or 20, they seem to get stuck in the "shutdown" state for about 5 to 10 minutes everytme the desktop needs to reboot. It eventually does recompose but it takes forever. Anyone ever see an issue like this? Any input or comments are welcome. thanks.
