Error on determining the SDK Service build, RC:2, Result: VTAF_Host

In my VASA test on workbench3.5.7 I encountered an error 'Error on determining the SDK Service build, RC:2, Result: VTAF_Host'. Please see the full logs of the failed test below. I checked the 'RC:2, Result: VTAF_Host' via STAF help and found this means VTAF_Host service was not found. However I can see the Workbench vTAF Framwork has been installed on Workbench. In additionally in the Installed Package board in Workbench I found the hint 'VMware-vTAF-vasa-cert60 is not installed'. I'm not sure this hint is related to this error. The following is the full log for the failed test. Did anyone meet the same issue? Thanks!

Couldn't open vCD VM console from vCloud Connector

Recently, I setup a vCloud Director 8.10 and vCloud Connector 2.7.2 environment in lab.
I installed vCC 2.7.2 Server in private cloud and vCC 2.7.2 node in a vCloud Director tenant.  All the functions like template copy/deploy worked fine, but when I opened the VM's VMRC console, it displayed black screen.  The VMRC logs shown "connection timed out". My vCloud Director had two address 192.168.2.22 for HTTP, and 192.168.2.23 for Console Proxy. I guess it maybe a SSL issue between vCC node and Console Proxy.

Does anyone have these experience? Thanks.

Hi,

my name is Marko.

I have imported the Management Pack for SCOM into my SCOM 2012 R2 environment. Our VMWare Environment is on Version 5.5.

Unfortunately the console of the SCOM does not show any data at all:

Capture.JPG

Following steps have been done already:

- Operation Manager installed on vCenter Server

- Power CLI 5.5 has been installed on vCenter Server

- Default Action Account has been distributed to the vCenter Server

- Read Only rights have been set for the Default Action account (Action Account is able to logon at vcenter)

- Default Action Account is local admin on the vCenter Server

- the Default Action account has been added to the Profile Community - VMware Monitoring Profile

Any idea what might be wrong?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Marko

Nowa macierz do 3 hostów (podłączenie bezpośrednie)

Witam,

Mamy w firmie 3 serwery (Dell T610). Wdrażamy VMware (obecnie działa kilkanaście maszyn wirtualnych na lokalnym hoście). Chcemy dokupić macierz (24 x 2,5''), aby skorzystać ze wszystkich możliwości wirtualizacji.

Nasze obecne typy to:

- używany DELL MD3220 (interfejsy SAS 6Gb/s)

- używany DELL MD3620F (interfejsy FC 8Gb/s)

- nowy DELL MD3420 (interfejsy SAS 12Gb/s)

- nowy DELL MD3820F (interfejsy FC 16Gb/s)

hello all

I migrated my VCSA from 6.0 to 6.5 and now and i have a strange message when i try to deploy an OVA : This version of vcenter server does not support Deploy OVF template using this version of vsphere web client. To deploy OVF template, login with version 6.5.0.0 of vsphere web client.

Of course i already use a 6.5 version like i am connected to vCenter 6.5.

I tryed to to remove stored data, clear cache, change brower, remove CIP 5.5 et 6.0, reboot VCSA and finely change PC.

I tryed with root and administrator@vsphere.local.

Always the same message (popup)

is anybody have a new idea ?

Hello conmunity vmware!

I have a problem then try to converter an Acronis Backup to virtual machine. I recive this message:

"An error occurred while opening a virtual disk. Verify that the converter server and the running source machines have a network access to the source and destination ESX/ESXi hosts"

I try to dissable SSL in vmware converter, according to says in the following thread:

An error occurred while opening a virtual disk. Verify that the converter server and the running source machines have a network access to the source and destination ESX/ESXi hosts

But the problem still here....

My ESXi Host and vcenter are in version 6.5, and I use the Converter v5.5 (because support migrating from acronis backups) and the last one only support a running machine..

I Attached the log... please help!

Strange VM network behaviour after vMotion migration

$

Hi

I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to despite hours of trawling VMware's KB and Google in general, so I wonder if someone here may have come across this before.

I have a Server 2012 R2 VM on a host box that for some reason if I migrate from one host to another, it develops network issues. It cant ping other servers, not all just seemingly random ones, and also cant be pinged from those servers it cant see. If I move it back onto the original host everything returns to normal. I have done all the usual network config troubleshooting, TCP/IP stack, Winsock, ARP tables, wireshark etc etc and none of it seems to make any difference, although don't believe it to be a VM config problem. I have also tried powering the server off then migrating it as opposed to a live migration and the result is the same.

Has anyone come across this before?

FYI, the ESXi box is a Dell Poweredge R730 running VMware ESXi, 6.0.0, 3620759. The image profile is Dell-ESXi-6.0U2-3620759-A00.

Any help or suggestions for what I'm missing would be gratefully received.

Thanks

Sully

Converting from IDE to SCSI vmdk

$

I have been tasked with migrating some linux based VMs from VirtualBox to VMware. When these machines were created the disks were created as SATA drives in VB. As such when I create a new machine and point to the vmdk files the kernal won't load.

VMw is loading these disks as IDE so all the pointers are to sdx and they are actually, in VMware, designated as hdx. I am probably blind but I would rather not have to recreate these VMs or edit alot of other files as I am no linux guru. Is there a way to do this?  BTW tried VMware converter for a running machine, however I am not moving to a hardware based ESX server which is the only option fora linux based machine. Also tried exporting the VMs in .ova and .ovf  bu tit seems VMware doesnt lke VB .ovas

AppVolumes 2.11 Upgrade to 2.12

Hi All,

If I want to get the decreased login update in version 2.12, do I need to rebuild my current AppStacks? Or is just upgrading from 2.11 to 2.12 Management and Agent enough?

VDP Config in a loop

$

Hi there,

I've deployed the latest VDP (6.1.3 I think) into a brand new vSphere 6.5 installation with vCenter 6.5. The deployment went OK, I configured the VDP using the https://<vdp>:8543/vdp-configure. Everything went well, it connected to vCenter Server, created storage, set the password, performed the speed test and rebooted itself.

However when I go back to the /vdp-configure URL the setup wizard stars again and it doesn't go into the maintenance mode as per the documentation. I can't re-run the setup again as it recognizes that the storage was created and can't get through the step.

Any ideas what may have gone wrong and what I can do with it?

Thanks a lot.

Hello community,

please need your help as i deployed NSX on two physical servers and  created two vms called DB-1 and DB-2 and connected to same logical switch which called DB-logical switch

the problem is  these two vms can connect (ping) each other if they were in the same physical server BUT when migrate one of them to the second physical server , they can't connect each other !

Note : i added the two physical server to the same VDS ( virtual Distributed Switch).

how can this issue solved or how to troubleshoot ?

Database Fragmentation?

We're utilizing App Volumes 2.12 in dev, and, just after upgrading we noticed that logins were failing. They would take a while to complete, with an eventual "Server error" message displayed in the browser. When we checked the logs we found this error:

[2017-01-06 16:08:35 UTC] P3116DJ8673734 ERROR        Cvo: Job error: Sync Computer #<Thread:0x00000000b0ced0> ODBC::Error: 42000 (1222) [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Lock request time out period exceeded.: EXEC sp_executesql N'UPDATE [domain_controllers] SET [last_failure_at] = NULL, [last_connected_at] = ''20170106 16:07:00.795'''''

We followed the steps in the KB here, and it resolved the issue. For about 24 hours. Is there something more permanent we're missing?

Patched ESXi Image Profile to 6.0.0 Build 4600944 now Host Profile Compliance Error

$

My config:

20 ESXi hosts in single Cluster all Auto Deploy hosts.  Existing hosts are 6.0.0 Build 4192238.  Hosts reboot and host profile applies without issues using build 4192238.  I also have NSX configured for the cluster and using Trend Deep Security.  UCS hosts with all FC attached storage.  One Distributed switch and a few standard switches.  Several port groups.

After I updated the Image Profile to 4600944 my hosts now show non-compliant.  The only compliance failure that is reported is "Host requires reboot before previously applied configuration changes will take effect".  All other host settings are correct and as far as I can tell the hosts are running fine.  From my research the only setting in my host profile that may be causing this is the ScratchConfig settings however that settings has not changed and is being set correctly on the patched hosts.  I have tried manually applying the host profile and rebooting several times.  The compliance error does not go away.

I plan to open a ticket with VMware but thought maybe someone else in the community may have hit this bug already.

Good afternoon people

I am updating my VDP from 6.1.2 to the current version 6.1.3, but after all configuration and restart of the Appliance .... it also caught:

VDP: Configure appliance (20%)

More than 2 hours ago and it does not go out of this status, has anyone been through this?

Host:

Dell Inspiron 5558 64bit chip w/ 64bit OS Win10Pro v10.0.14393

2TB HD [930GB free space]

16GB RAM (non-Dell)

Guest VMWare:

OS Win7Pro

2GB RAM (recommended)

137.1GB HD (2nd directory off the root of C)

    Defrag'd today

What are my options to improve performance and responses?  The VMWare image is very slow.  Seems to take about 5x longer than normal.  Outlook launch/Excel launch etc. and screen to screen Alt-tabs are slow.

Thoughts?

I'm compacting the disk now.....
