Could not connect to one or more vCenter Server systems: VCENTER APPLIANCE 5.5

Dear all,,

 

Please help me.

 

 

I have installed with new v center appliance 5.5 in my  environment.

i have connected with external  oracle db.

have enabled embedded SSO .

connected with windows AD.

 

in the configuration screen  .all the service status are running . ok

after loggin web client

https://x.x.x.x:9443/

 

 

GOT an  ERROR .

 

 

 

" Could not connect to one or more vCenter Server systems: "

Note:. I have reboot my vcenter appliance and try .....got same error.

          I have created new group in AD for vcenter and tried ..got same error.

 

While connecting with Vsphere client : got an error below.

"An unknow connection error occured ( this is failed because of a connection failure. (Unable to connect to the remote server )"

Esxi5.5 install on lenovo rd340

Hi,

i have a problem during an installation of esxi 5.5 on lenovo thinkserver rd340.

I Cannot find the virtual disk for the installation even if I have bought the upgrade license key.

Now I have installed it on a USB key but when I'm going to create a new datastore, esxi sees the 2 hdd instead of 1 virtual disk.

I don't have a raid card but the integrated bios raid (software)..

how can I resolve my problem?

VCAP Certification doubts. 1st attempt failed.

Hi All,

 

I have already written the VCAP DCA 5 and my results were negative.

 

I have objectives which they claim that its incorrect. I have few doubts which i need to discuss with some of you who can help me out if what I am doing is correct or not.

 

I am 100 % sure I have done it correctly , but results says its not.

Using SWF RSL with a Flex plugin

Hello,

 

We're developing a Flex Web Client Plugin which uses a SWF library (which contains 3rd party LGPL library)

What should we do so that the VC will load that SWF?

Where we need to locate this file? Is there a example for something like that?

Getting 405 Method not found error when tying to update VCAC through VCO workflows

Hello all.

 

I am trying to run the workflow 'Update a VCAC model entity' from within another workflow.

I am able to succesfully read the required entity(s) from 'Read a VCAC entity by custom filter', then choose the appropriate entity, pass it to the 'Update' workflow.

But when executing the last part, I am getting the '405 Method not allowed error' from the IIS (the Windows machine running IAAS service).

 

Even the standard workflow 'update blueprint property' also fails with same error.

Is there some configuraiton issue with IIS server?

Security concerns with vCAC 6.0?

The proposed environment has two separate Active Directory domains (A and B where A is the vCAC "owner") and separate hardware (phase 1 - with eventual sharing of hardware).  Can the IaaS admin work magic via vCAC and get to a point where he/she could pull an ovf file from Active Directory domain B (vCenter) to A?  Once you have a ovf you can hack it and pull data off (just like a physical server).....IaaS admin will have the required agent on the "B" domain vCenter - but not the password.

 

The concern is that an IaaS admin could bypass all of Active Directory file/server/logon ACLs, copy the VM completely and do whatever they want.

 

Once the hardware is shared - this becomes even more of a concern depending on the type of storage connections used.  But that bridge can be crossed later.

 

Thank you for any and all comments - this has been bugging me for a while and I need to get some firm answers.

vCAC 6.0 REST api. Has anyone successfully tested it?

I am trying to get a simple connection going to the REST api beta and failing miserably.  If I am reading the documentation correctly I think I need to pass along an authorization token from the SSO.  On pages 9-10 of the api documentation they have a link to the SSO api documentation near where they mention authorization.  If anyone has a quick step by step guide to connecting that would be great.  I have been trying to use the Chrome rest client but have yet to get anything aside from a 404 error.

Virtual Machine Performance Issue

Hi Folks,

 

I have a virtual machine while deleting a snapshot of the server it is unreachable for 2 Ping request after that it starts pinging. Also the disk consolidation is not happening on the server. Below is the error log for Disk consolidation. Please let me know if there is a permanent fix.

Virtual SAN Licensing

Following the update of my vCenter to 5.5.0 U1, I tried moving the hosts from the Beta Refresh build (1439689) to GA (1623099) and the first host coming out of the upgrade was hanging at this screen "osfs loaded successfully" for hours. I was able to perform a recovery of the host and roll it back to the Beta Refresh build.

I think this may be due to the fact that my Virtual SAN Beta key has expired. So it would appear that if your license expires, you cannot add hosts, upgrade hosts, or manage existing storage policies (following an upgrade of vCenter). So the moral of the story is get a valid key. Which brings me to my next point. I just registered for the Virtual SAN evaluation so I could at least continue working in the short term in my lab. When I look at the Trial for Virtual SAN, it states there is no license key required. I believe that you do in fact need a valid key to make Virtual SAN function, so how am I supposed to evaluate the GA version without a key?

ESXi 5.5 on Mac Pro 6,1

This system is not on the HCL but I'm still looking at getting ESXi installed on it... I have used unebootin to create a bootable USB installer from VMware-VMvisor-Installer-5.5.0-1331820.x86_64.iso Booted from this and see a list of modules load. Then it gets stuck at "Relocating modules and starting up the kernel..." Is there some way to get a more verbose set of boot logs?

SSL Certificate Automation Tool 5.5 can do with some improvments

Hi,

 

 

 

The SSL Certificate Automation Tool 5.5 is a real improvement for replacing certificates for vcenter.

 

 

 

I use it in combination with Derek Seaman toolkit to update all certificates including the esxi host them selves.

The great thing of this the tool kit is that processes every thing 1 one batch and i can request certificates directly to the windows CA. And it can also update the certificates of the esxi hosts as well

 

 

 

But the your automation tool i am missing the update of some  vcenter services mainly:

 

* AutoDeploy

* DumpCollector

* SysLogCollector

 

 

 

I personally don't use the AuthenticationProxy but i think that one is missing also.

 

 

The other issue i think that is not user friendly that can't process all certificates in one batch, so i only have to supply 1 time the password's.

 

At start you know all services you nice because you specified them at the start when you use the plan option

A specially because pasting a  password from your password save is not working that great in a command line box :-D

Also a question at the start do need to all predefined certificate paths would be nice don't have to confirm all of them, becouse you specified them already in the enveriment barchfile.

 

 

 

these are just my 2 cents, but i really want to know if you agree with me or totaly not ?

Unable to install ESXI 5.1. or 5.5.. Please help..

Hey guys,

 

I am fairly new with using ESXI... I am running into a problem which I really hope is easy to resolve.

 

When I go to install ESXI5.1 or 5.5, about 5-10 minutes into the install (After its successfully detected the HDD etc) I get the following EXACT error message:

 

 

partedUtil failed with message error: error opening
/dev/disks/t10.ATA_______ST31500341AS___________9VS281P1:

 

Input/Output error

 

Unable to get device /vmfs/devices/disks/t10.ATA________ ST31500341AS_____________9VS281P1

 

 

ST31500341AS is the HDD.  ACPI is selected in the BIOS for the applicable controller.

The motherboard I am using is a Gigabyte X58A-UD3R. Googling on the net, it seems many people have used this motherboard (Though old) with version 5.1 & had no issues like this at all.

 

Really would appreciate anyones help with this as I am eager to install ESXI before the weekend has ended.

How to ThinApp Java 7 version 55

Running Windows 7 32 Bit

Running ThinApp Setup Capture 4.6.2-467908

 

I follow these steps:

Step by Step Instructions on How to ThinApp Newer Java Versions | VMware ThinApp Blog - VMware Blogs

 

I realize these instructions are a few years old.  I do get some issues.

 

1)  I do not get the option to customize the Java install

 

2)  Internet Explorer 8 does not show me to under Manage  Add-Ons JQSIEStartDetectorImpl Class  I do disable both SSV Helper Classess.  I leave the Java pluging


3)  When I do a post scan, I uncheck all and check for debug options but iexplore.exe isn't one of them for an entry point


4)  I checked java.exe as my entry point since one is required


5)  I edited the package.ini and the project as stated


6)  I build it

 

7)  We use a central location on the network for thinapps.  I place it there.

 

8)  Thru a Virtual Desktop I verify that I am running 6.16

 

9)  I go to the network location and execute bin\java.exe or %ProgramFilesDir%\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe

 

10)  Open IE and test the version.  Still 6.16

 

Any ideas?

Linux - Workstation 10.0.2 - VM slowess in Kubuntu 14.04

Hello.

 

 

I used a VM with Kubuntu 13.10 (64 bit) and Windows 7 (64 bits) as guest.

 

 

I reinstall my laptop with Kubuntu 14.04 (64 bits, from scratch) and also WMware workstation 10.0.2 (it used to already be 10.0.2 before the reinstallation).

 

 

I imported the existed VM (File > Open). I also verified that the WMware tools are corretly installed.

 

 

However since that, the VM is really slow to boot (It stuck in a black screen around 30 seconds, around 5 minutes in windows starting screen and when it started, the performance in the VM are really bad). I checked the VM memory, CPU but everything seems like before. Before in used to boot in 45 seconds.

 

 

Do you have any idea of the problem?

Starting word from within thinapp

Hi guys,

 

Starting Office from within a thinapp triggers a repair.

I know the package .ini paramters

 

VirtualizeExternalOutOfProcessCOM=0

ChildProcessEnvironmentExceptions=WINWORD.EXE

ChildProcessEnvironmentDefault=Virtual

 

But using this option, then word does not use the plugins/connectors that are thinapped in the pacakge.

Already tried changing the registry keys / directories that had isolation mode full to merged or writecopy without any luck.

2007 starts ok at our environment but not at the customer site, 2010 triggers repair everytime.

 

anyone an idea.

supermicro x9sre\x9sre-3f с контроллером адаптек 6405.
С ним время от времени бывает глюк - отваливаются виртуалки.
В логах сыпятся ошибки

Раид пересобирал по новой. Винчи в другие слоты переставлял. С драйверами для адаптека игрался...

Не помогает.

Кто может помочь в причине?

Strange issue with vShield Edge Gateway on vCloud

Hi everyone,

 

I'm facing a very strange issue with vShield Edge Gateway as below topology

VM02 can successfully ping VM01. However, VM01 can't ping VM02 (vShield firewall is disabled)

If we change VM02 default gateway to 10.11.32.253, ping is successfully between the 02 VMs.

 

It seems like vShield Edge Gateway issue.
