Vcloud Login page issue

HiTeam,

 

i have upgraded Vcloud from 9.X to 10.X but i am not able to access the VCloud from the FQD:

 

 

An error was encountered during initialization. This can be caused by issues such as accessing the application via an unsupported public URL or poor connectivity.

 

before i was not able to access using IP address but i have gone through below link then its worked, i have done same step for FQD but no luck, any solution ?

Hi guys,

I get below error while vMotion a VM to another Host:

 

 

Error stack:

  • Heap dvfilter may only grow by 57344000 bytes (81073016/138417016), which is not enough for allocation of 77418496 bytes
  • vMotion migration [-1408103835:935390364785455209] failed to get DVFilter state from the source host <172.18.10.101>

P.S:

1- I can't restart Host.

2- Another VMs Migrate smoothly.

3- OS version is ESXi 6.5   14320405

vSphere 7 Scalable Shares & Contention

VMware vSphere ESXi Dump Collector 6.7 Update 1 Configuration

Hello All

 

I'm struggling to find where you configure the port / repository max size / service startup for the VMware vSphere ESXi Dump Collector (6.7 update 1) in the HTML interface?

 

It still exists in the FLEX (flash): vSphere Web Client - Home / Administration / System Configuration / Services /  VMware vSphere ESXi Dump Collector.

 

I thought the HTML5 client was fully featured?

vCenter alert "host connection Failure"

I am seeing more and more the following happening in our environment:

 

Log entries appear in this order:

1. VMs show as disconnecting in the logs

2. host shows as not responding

3. Cannot synchronize host - this is a default alert, yet doesn't show up as triggered in the "triggered alarms"

4. Host connection failure triggered by event 887153 - this is a default alert, yet doesn't show up as triggered in the "triggered alarms" ; and someone please help me with the event ID 887153, can't find info on it anywhere...

5. Host connection failure triggered an action

6. Host connection failure sends snmp trap

 

Then, 40 minutes later... (sometime only seconds later, sometimes minutes, but in this specific case 40 minutes, but it varies without rhyme or reason)

 

7. VMs start to connect

8. Established a connection (obviously this refers to the host but this is all you see in the entry)

 

and that's it...

 

SO, where is the red to green snmp trap??   or yellow to green you should see described in VMware Knowledge Base ???

 

the alert by default is supposed to send an snmp trap when the alert changes to green, but nowhere in the logs is this showing that it turns Green.   therefore, no trap is being sent to clear the condition to our monitoring system..  and the alerts aren't showing up as triggered, so they aren't being cleared automatically.

 

I want to know what the underlying cause of these alerts, so it can stop.    Also, the references to these alerts being triggered when coming out of standby mode is irrelevant, we don't use standby mode, it has nothing to do with it.

 

I wonder though, perhaps this is because our blades are in a balanced power mode and not static high performance???   thoughts?

Cannot select storage when deploying a VM from OVF/VMDK

Hello,

 

I have exported and downloaded a .OVF/VMDK from a ESXi 6.7U3 host through the host (web) interface. I'm now trying to migrate this to another ESXi host (running the same version) using the deploy from OVF/OVA file command. I'm able to go through the first 2 steps of the wizard (selecting deploy from OVF/OVA, and selecting the .OVF/VMDK pair from my local machine) and naming the new VM. When it asks for the datastore (Select storage) step 3, I cannot hit Next, pressing the button does nothing, though the option appears to be available (e.g. not greyed out). I have verified that the datastore has sufficient free space (the VM is provisioned for 128GB, even though the VMDK is ~70GB - and as you can see in the screenshot, there is 200+GB free). I thought my local web browser might be uploading the VMDK silently (which would take some time), but checking my network utilization on my local machine indicates that this isn't happening.

 

Is there anything else I can try? I've tried using Chrome/Firefox and Edge browsers already.

Upgrade from 6.5 to 6.7 fails: "

All,

 

I'm trying to upgade a 2 host cluster from 6.5 to 6.7U3. But remediation fails in early stage. The messaage is

"Could not stage image profile '(Updated) HPE-ESXi-6.7.0-Update3-iso-Gen9plus-670.U3.10.5.0.48': ('MSCC_bootbank_smartpqi_1.0.4.3008-1OEM.670.0.0.8169922', 'Could not find a trusted signer.')"

 

What does that actually mean and how to correct the issue?

 

These are HP DL380G9 -servers.

vCenter Server Upgrade fails with VMware vSAN Health Service failed firstboot.

Hi Guys,

 

Couple of weeks ago I was upgrading a vCenter Server Appliance from 6.5 U2 to 6.7U3e and encountered an error during the VC upgrade. The error message was vCenter Server Upgrade fails with VMware vSAN Health Service failed firstboot. The error was seen in Step 2 of Stage 2 of the upgrade when the services start on the new VCSA.

The external PSC was successfully upgraded with no issues however only the VC was failing to upgrade with the error.

At this stage the new 6.7 VCSA has to be powered down and I had to restore the original 6.5 VCSA to bring up the environment.

I also attempted the upgrade to version 6.7U3f in an attempt to reproduce the error and still got the same error at the same stage.

 

After troubleshooting this issue with GSS for a couple of weeks they have advised that this is a known issue with the vSAN service on the VCSA 6.7U3 appliances. VMware have a workaround for this in place however they have also advised that they are releasing a hot fix patch for the vSAN service in the coming days to fix this known issue.

 

Anyone else encountered this?

My vcenter HA cannot configure

i want to configure vcenter HA but when i click on Setup vcenter HA depict this error :

 

   The operation is not allowed in the current state.    

 

  Failed to get management network information. Verify if management interface (NIC0) is configured correctly and is reachable, and verify if correct DNS mapping is provided for forward and reverse hostname lookup.

 

in most of documents mentioned the reseon is for hostname thais with Uppercase whereas my hostname is lowercase

 

this is my output :

Hi,

 

This is configured in Workstation.

 

I have 1 Windows Server VM, 1 vCenter VM, 5 esxi VMs, 1 firewall VM.

 

I have 3 networks

 

- 1 firewall VM with the below 3 network interfaces.

- 192.168.100.0/24 (vCenter, Windows Server)

- 192.168.101.0/24 (3 esxi hosts)

- 192.168.102.0/24 (2 esxi hosts)

 

I'm facing this issue lately (as I have just started using firewall in the network) where the vCenter is unable to ping any esxi host and vice versa, and found the below in the logs. I'm unsure where the issue as vCenter can ping at times and after a long pause it is unable to ping, here a long time pause refers to pausing the VMs in the workstation. And this is not the 1st firewall I have come across this issue, I tried both Sophos XG and pfSense as well.

 

There are no special rules in the firewall, all LAN traffic is permitted. Once the firewall is restarted again then the ping works. Is there anything about the vCenter packets going to firewalls because the same time vCenter cannot ping an esxi host the windows server can ping he same esxi host.

 

Note that the esxi hosts are not yet added to vCenter.

VMware View client drive redirection disconnects auntomatically

Hi

 

We have users using PST and since they are huge we have enabled client drive redirection and map the pst using this option. We found that the client drives are auto-disconnected in certain cases and couldn't find the root cause this issue.

Use powerCLI to check and set the MTU settings in Host Profiles

I want to scan all the host profiles in our environment and validate the MTU settings on all the vmk's in the profiles. However, there seems to be little to no documentation on how to access the information in a host profile via powerCLI. I want to assume all the information in a host profile can be found somewhere under the results returned from a Get-VMHostProfile but these things are massive just combing through it is not helping. This is made harder by the fact that none of the extension data in this object seems to be named or categorized the same as in the GUI...rac

 

Anyone else already crack this nut and willing to share the code?

Is anyone successfully running a macOS Catalina as guest OS?

I've managed to install macOS Catalina 10.15.4 on VMWare Fusion 11.5.3, but there are severe graphics errors that make tabs in all apps unusable. The tab bar is drawn incorrectly with a glitched / black background.

As you can see, it's very hard to recognize which tab is active (screenshot shows problem in Finder, but it also occurs in other apps).

 

Is anybody else running Catalina as a guest OS? Are you seeing this problem too?

AirWatch Boxer For Android - E-mails stuck in outbox

How are you ? Great I hope !
One of my end users is having a chronic crippling issue of Boxer e-mails getting stuck in the outbox on his android phone. Your V4.8 release notes BINXA-5686 states that the issue was resolved in Version 4.8, the end user has uninstalled & reinstalled to the latest version which is V4.8.1, tried manually synch, the problem occurs in multiple locations with great wifi reception.

Is there anything else to check or another fix for this issue ? My end user depends on his phone e-mail to do business as he is often times working remotely off of the phone for all web/e-mail access.

Extremely frustrating please help!

No Connection - Retry - Workspace one Boxer

Hello ,

 

we do have workspace one 1907 deployed in an on premise deployment mode, we do have Seg 2.4 and tunnel servers in cascade mode,

the email access is done over the tunnel, i have an issue with boxer deployed to android devices , i am able to retrieve the emails initially but after that i am getting the error message mentioned in the subject most of the time, i have no issues with IOS Devices,

 

what could be the reason

Boxer only syncing current day and a couple of other days. Will not sync all email on Motorola G7

I have BOXER running on several Motorola G7 phones fine. But one phone will only show email for the current day and a few random other days. It will not sych all email. Any ideas?

I had the problem on Motorola G6 and used this workaround from Airwatch support but it doesn't pertain to the G7:

Here is the fix. It is a known issue in BOXER build 1029 and due to be fixed in the next release.

1. Click Hamburger Menu in upper left of Boxer app
2. Click Settings
3. Click About
4. Click Build option 10 times
5. This enables DEBUG mode and tells you at the bottom when it is enabled
6. Click Back Arrow
7. Choose DEBUG
8. Uncheck the box by ' Enable new sync engine'
9. Exit Boxer
10. Go back into Boxer and mail synchs


Boxer vs Outlook

Any of you using either in your environment over the native clients on iOS & Android?

Pros/Cons to both? I've been testing Boxer for a month or, and enjoying it thus far.

Emails not synching in Boxer.....

Anyone run into an issue where users emails are not auto synch to Boxer?  To get them to sync they seem to have to go into Boxer first and then with the app open they wiil start to come in.  Getting the idea this started happening after PIE update. 

Change DNS when commissioning hosts

I would like to use a different DNS during the commissioning of new hosts. I do not wish to run the change DNS script on my existing install (not that it works anyway), rather I basically want to know what file on the SDDC manager I need to update so when it sets DNS on the new hosts it uses something other than what is returned when I run curl localhost/inventory/system-info | json_pp

 

I am not concerned about support, etc. I basically just need the internal hack as it is preventing me from testing something. Thanks.

 

 

Performance issues with Mac OS Catalina and Fusion 11.5.3 running Windows 10

I've had some performance issues on and off and it seems to have gotten gradually worse, and at this stage it's becoming unberable. I have a 2016 Macbook Pro with 16GB of RAM, 2.6Ghz QuadCore i7 running Mac OS Catalina and a Windows 10 VM. Things are OK at times, and then depending on what I'm doing the VM can become practically unusable. This has been especially noticeable with the lockdown and having a lot of Zoom calls. If I have a call on, things get slow. If I turn my camera on, then the VM tends to freeze. It's not as bad without calls, but I can get a lot of random slow-downs. Often, if I go look in my Windows Task Manager, "System Interrupt" is taking 100% of CPU, which is the main reason I'm posting a separate thread because I haven't seen this particular factor posted. I suspected maybe the CPU was running too hot, but I checked and it appears that while the CPU gets much hotter when using the camera, there are times when things are slow and all the cores are around 62-63 celsius, which doesn't seem too bad. I'm running out of ideas as this is making it thoroughly painful to use the Windows VM, and since my work requires it I'm getting to the point where I'm considering trying a different product because this isn't cutting it. Anybody have any insights on how this System Interrupts thing could be related (seems like it would be hardware related)?
